Make web folder not browsable

If you want to make a web folder inaccessible, follow these simple steps:

Create a new text file in Notepad and place this one line in it:

Options -Indexes

Save the file as htaccess.txt, upload it into the folder you wish to stop from being viewed and change the name of the file to .htaccess (Note the "dot" in front of the file name).

Note: If you place this .htaccess file within your public_html or htdocs folder, it will stop directory browsing for your whole site. If you only want to stop it for one folder, just place it in that folder.
