How to send a Word document to another PC for reading/printing without changing the fonts?
You can embed the font in the document, this way:
In versions of Word prior to Word 2007:
1. Click the Tools->Options menu item.
2. Click the Save tab.
3. Check the "Embed TrueType fonts" checkbox.
4. Click OK.
In Word 2007, 2010:
1. In Word 2007, click the round Office button in the upper-left corner of the window. In Word 2010, click the File tab on the Ribbon.
2. In Word 2007, click the Word Options button. In Word 2010, click Options.
3. Click the Save entry.
4. Check the "Embed fonts in the file" checkbox.
5. Click OK.
Hope that helps.
PS: You might want to turn the option off before you create or edit any more documents. I think it can balloon the size of a document file.
- Fonts must be embeddable and TrueType fonts.
- Right Click on a font, then click Properties, then Details, note that for font embeddability, there are several possible values. As a rule, fonts that are listed as anything other than 'Restricted' can be embedded.
